ASUS VS278Q-P 27" Full HD 1920x1080 1ms DisplayPort HDMI VGA Monitor
It’s hard not to be impressed by this ASUS product, which in our opinion is the best gaming monitor under $200.

The monitor comes with a stand, power cable, DVI cable, VGA cable, a quick start guide, and an ASUS VIP member slip.

This monitor has an HDMI port too. Set up is minimal, and once done, this works quite well.

The colors were really vibrant and realistic. We didn’t notice any dead pixels.

The monitor is 27 inches, so it’s big enough for immersive experiences.

The response time, at 1 ms, is really quick as well. It has two built-in speakers that are good on an average level.

The monitor can automatically optimize images to adjust brightness, contrast and sharpness.

We did experience some trouble with a NVIDIA GPU. If you get washed out color with certain GPUs, just go to settings and set 'output dynamic range' to full.

Also, make sure you haven’t modified the color settings. Other than this issue, everything else works perfectly.

This biggest advantage of this monitor is that it’s backlit.

So graphics will be displayed brightly and clearly regardless of the angle or intensity of light in the room.

The monitor has a high response time, and can display 4K graphics with ease.

There are no in-built speakers, which is not an issue for most gamers who prefer a plug-in sound system.

We liked this monitor because its Energy Star certified as well.

The default graphics settings for the monitor are pretty bad, so expect to spend some time adjusting the settings.

This monitor is surprisingly slim.

It’s built just for gaming, so there’s a super-quick response time of 1 ms. It’s 24 inches, which is slightly smaller than the Asus monitors mentioned here.

What we really liked about this monitor is the 80,000,000:1 high contrast ratio and Eye Care tech that reduces blue light that causes optical fatigue.

The monitor can render image quality is quite fine detail.

You can expect Full HD graphics on graphics-intensive games. This monitor comes with a 3-year warranty from the manufacturer too.

We were skeptical at first because BenQ is not a brand we were familiar with.

But after testing this gaming monitor, we can safely say the quality is close to known brands like LG and Asus.

It promises graphics without smearing or ghosting, and on the games we tested, the claims held ground.

It has optimized presets for different modes that you can choose for different games.

It’s also unique because it has a feature to enhance graphics when the background colors are mostly dark.

If you play a game like Resident Evil, you will definitely appreciate this tech.

This curved monitor looks stunning.

It’s best for a three monitor system (with two of these on the side) for a genuine immersive experience. But as a standalone monitor, it works quite well too.

The monitor has a 1800R curvature. That may not be for everyone, but it’s well suited for certain types of gaming.

The monitor is wicked stylish with a glossy body and metallic silver curves.

The screen has Eye Saver mode to reduce eye fatigue when gaming.

It also has AMD FreeSync, a tech that reduces image tearing and lagging. We’d say this lovely monitor is worth every penny.

This is not the fanciest Asus on this list, but this monitor is highly reliable and offers great value for money spent.

It has a quick response time, and images are rendered sharply with generous amounts of clear color. Input lag is very low.

It also comes with an adjustable stand that will definitely be convenient for many.

It has a blue light filter to make long gaming sessions more comfortable.

The build is very sturdy and solid. There’s no wobbling and this will last a long time.

Dell Gaming Monitor SE2417HG 23.6" TN LCD Monitor with 2ms Response Time
This is one of the best gaming monitors under $200 that offers truly excellent returns for the investment.

At 23.6 inches it’s slightly small compared to many monitors on this list. But the lacking size is made up for in durability and super good image quality.

There’s very little to no pixelation noticeable. Even auto settings provide decent color optimization.

The monitor’s value truly lies in its durability.

You can expect high color accuracy, something we didn’t think possible for a budget monitor. Overall, a great product you can rely on.

How to Choose a Good Gaming Monitor with a $200 Budget

Shopping for a high-end but budget-range gaming monitor can be hard. Hopefully, this list helped.

Here are several other things in general to keep in mind when looking for a gaming monitor under $200:

As always, buy a monitor protected by a warranty. It will make it much easier to return the product or get technical help if necessary later.

Think about the screen size your want. Also, don’t forget that if you buy a large monitor, you will need to keep in in the house.

If you have limited space where you play games, don’t buy a really large monitor. Take measurements before going shopping.

Blue light filter monitors are ideal for people who game at night. It will make sure that your sleep cycle is not messed up.

The bigger the screen is the better. But keep the resolution levels in mind too. A 27-inch screen is ideal for gaming, but the resolution should at least be 1920×1080.
