Windows Live Messenger keeps getting fancier, the latest version has visual customization incorporated at every possible location in your messenger window almost as if it’s target audience is for pre-teens, personally I prefer the previous version, and if you share similar perspective you can stick with the older version without the messenger ruthlessly forcing you to update.
Well, there seems to be quite a common glitch (Microsoft product, who would have thought) with the software as well, where it fails to remember your username and/or password for some reason. Well times are hard with the recession and having to type your email address each time you need to login to your messenger can get unmanageably overwhelming…right?
Well, Jonathan Kay, who somehow thinks it’s cool to call himself the “MessengerGeek” has developed a tiny application that fixes this issue, however MakeMessengerRemember runs on the not so tiny 2xMB .NET Framework which you will also need to install to run the application, upon execution you simply need to click ‘Fix’ after which your computer reboots and voila! your credentials should stick again.
Before you return to this post and start bitching (‘this is a scam’, best answer, don’t we love Yahoo! answers, jeez.) about the “The application failed to initialize properly” error, please refer to the bold section in the paragraph above and make sure you have done that as well.
