Do you need to shutdown your computer at a specific time? You might need to do this for a number of reasons, an ideal situation maybe you are downloading a file overnight and you sleep 12 hours a day (because, maybe you are unemployed) but you are pretty sure the file you are downloading would be done in a few hours the most and you probably want to save electricity (because you are unemployed, remember?), many software that requires a lot of time have features to shutdown your computer once the function is complete.
In the downloading example, software like uTorrent allow you to automatically turn off your computer once downloads are complete, however most developers aren’t really that thoughtful so you’d be stuck with shutting down your computer manually, or not.
Shutdown Monster (lame I know) is an open source software that lets you schedule your computer to shutdown based on a preset time. You can also assign it to recurringly turn off on a particular day at a specific time. Be sure to suggest any similar apps in the comments and also provide your feedback on Shutdown Monster.
