I was looking for how to update your Alexa screenshot thumbnail because some services (like Adtoll) and I actually found it quite easily by myself in the end. Another thing I noticed is there are quite a few out there who want to update their thumbnail too so I thought I’ll let you know here.
If you were wondering Alexa is a web traffic information provider (they are from Amazon) which mainly gives (inaccurate) traffic statistics. It gives every site an ‘Alexa score’; a score of one would be the most popular site. I mentioned ‘inaccurate’ in brackets above because the rank is based on the Alexa toolbar users so if you are hearing about Alexa for the first time you’ll realize how inaccurate it is, one Internet user already left behind and not considered in the rankings. I think I’ll talk about the service itself some time later, for now I think I’ll just stick to the title.
The Alexa thumbnail is displayed at a site’s traffic stats Alexa page. Generally it’s barely updated, so if you’ve had five face lifts for your website in the past five months the thumbnail would probably be a screenshot of how the site looked in the beginning and you would probably want it to be updated because it probably would have looked <insert negative adjective here> back then.
All you have to do is visit your site’s details. Click ‘Edit Site Info’ on the sidebar and click ‘update thumbnail image of yoursite.com’. That’s it! The site then says it’ll be updated in 48 hours but it should get updated in just a few hours.

with the link in alexa site’s details, the thumbnail was updated on technorati but not on alexa. why?

It takes a while for alexa to update the thumbnail,how long has it been since you clicked the update thumbnail button in the alexa website?

on technorati help pages i read that to update the thumbnail i have to do on alexa, and so i did 1 week ago, but it’s strange that the technorati’s thumbnail was updated but alexa one not.

I’ve tried to update my site’s thumbnail multiple times but it’s stuck on one from 2007 or so! I think Alexa has basically given up on my lowly site. lol

It was time to upgrade Alexa, I pass from 1877345 to 1398445 very good result, I gradually improved but I think the owner is changing the Alexa aglorimito why has pulled about three weeks to update.
