How to remove your New Blogger Navigation Bar

Author: luq | Files under Blogging, the internet, tips, tutorials

If you have ever had a blog on Blogger you would have realized that it is very easy to setup, it’s very user-friendly and one more thing, they are self obsessed!

If you setup a free Blogger Blog apart from the yourname.BLOGSPOT.com ‘advertisement’, the default Favicon is the Blogger logo (find out how to change your Blogger Favicon) and the other bar right at the top of the blog with its icon and the Blogger logo.

This blog used to be on Blogger and the NavBar was not among the reasons why I moved to Wordpress, because I never had it on my Blogger blog on the first place, removing it is a walk in the park!

Well, here I will show you how to remove the annoying NavBar, don’t worry about breaking their TOS because it does not state anywhere in the terms that it is a violation.

All you have to do is open the template code (Dashboard > Layout > Edit HTML and paste the following code on the template:

#navbar-iframe {
height:0px;
visibility:hidden;
display:none;
}

Save the settings and reload your web page and your Navigation Bar should have vanished!

    Thanks for the tip. My navigation bar is now gone.

    I have a question though: how can I customize/edit my page, now that the navigation bar is gone? :-(

    Please help, thanks. I appreciate it.

    i am not sure i know where you are getting at, are you talking about editing fonts, header,color,etc?? then goto Dashboard>layout>fonts and colors

    or if you want to edit elements on your template goto dashboard>layout>page elements where you can add text,html and a lot more to your template.

    Or are you talking about accessing your dashboard to customize your blog? then you’ll have to visit it via blogger.com/home, one drawback of removing the navbar,but i guess if you bookmark the page it should be alright.

    Great tip. But I want to know how you got that side bar wide enough to insert the adbrite code on this wordpress blog? Is it just a matter of me picking the right theme or will i need to know coding?

    Its a matter of getting the right theme, you can also modify any other theme that already available to place ad code on your site properly but you’ll need to know a bit of coding for it. I recommend this theme as well (link in footer), its the perfect theme for me atleast.

    I removed it from my personal blog over a year ago and havent hear anything about it yet from Google or Blogger. But i still have my fingers crossed. They should have a freaking option for this. We should not be forced to have this on our sites. We are creating soo much content for these guys they should be sending us gifts.
