Bass has long been an important aspect of music. You’ve probably seen artists make use of this one feature in sound effects to get away with their hopeless singing talent. Sometimes, you might find yourself listening to a song with the perfect rhythm that is lacking just a hint of bass that it needs to make it the ultimate sound track, or maybe you just can’t get enough of bass in music.
In any case, there are quite a few ways to enhance the bass effect in a sound track. Typically you will need to use a sound editing software. One of the easiest solutions is using an audio editing software known as Wavepad. It is a comprehensive audio editing software for Windows and Mac systems. Once you download the application, open the file you’d like to enhance. Press Ctrl (or Cmd) + A, choose Effects > Equalizer and adjust the equalizer until the desired bass is achieved.
If you are not happy with using an entirely new software to achieve this, your preferred audio editor should probably support this as well. A look into that application’s user manual or FAQ should have your solution, or you can also post on that application’s support forum. If you know any easier alternatives to boost the bass in music, please leave it in the comments.

There’s loads of good open source tools above… but make sure that you are adding bass for the right reason. If you are using tiny speakers, computer speakers, headphones then it might sound tinny anyway. If you are using decent speakers – check the EQ settings on the device themselves… the last thing you want to do is go to the effort of the above when its a turn of a dial! Also – if you are sharing the file, what sounds great on your playback might sound terrible on someone elses!
Finally – carefull you don’t overload things and end up with a big fuzzy pile of distortion!
