A while ago I installed a plugin to reply to comments which served its purpose pretty well. But as always, there is room for improvement, after the new 2.7 release, i was on the wordpress parent company Automattic‘s website where i took a look at their projects where I found IntenseDebate, which is basically an advanced version of the previous comment plugin so I thought i’ll give it a try.
IntenseDebate provides a better interface that lets you reply comments by threading, have commenter profiles, reputation, RSS for comment discussions and moderation. As of now i’ve enabled the threading, reputation and reporting features. I’ve installed the plugin on a testing ground for now so don’t be surprised if you see that comments have been reverted to the previous plugin. However, i’m convinced that IntenseDebate is here to stay as it offers more functionality to the blog.
Start using IntenseDebate now, comment below or on any other post on Computer Realm.
Update – IntenseDebate has temporarily disabled as it is not compatible with the CommentLuv plugin.

thanks for the info, however i think i prefer the default commenting system as it’s simpler. i might try intense debate one more time though.

Intense Debate is for me the best commenting system that i have come across on the web. I recently installed it on my blog and it works a charm. Great social interaction with twitter and friendfeed, so you can tweet your comments.
