about sound driver

i m using windows Xp SP3 and there is a problem for few days that some times my sound is gone.and never back sound.i need to reinstall the driver then it back after while it became same...it's a common problem now.i don't know is this a warm ??kindly tell me anyone that what to do ..

What is the model of your sound card? did you notice it happening after opening certain programs?do you use an antivirus and antispyware program?

could be an incompatibility with a program, or your sound card maybe reaching its end..
