Well, today most software portals and websites provide software and widgets which lets you download videos from Youtube, Metacafe, Ifilm and so on, but the list ends.
I was just browsing through the Firefox extensions page when I spotted a similar kind of extension, except this tiny extension lets you ‘unplug’ videos from ‘any’ site. Self-titled ‘Unplug’, with a fish with a cheesy smile as the icon, UnPlug lets you download videos from any site.
Whether it’s a video from Youtube you want, a trailer from IMDB or just some cool street racing vid on a tiny blog somewhere, UnPlug lets you download it. I was quite impressed so the least I could do was spread the word.
update - UnPlug no longer works for DailyMotion…atleast for now.
update - turns out there are quite a few video sites i discovered that UnPlug doesn’t support. DownloadHelper though, another Firefox extension offers much more compatibility and i suggest you use it instead.
To find out more about UnPlug visit their MozDev page or the Firefox extensions page.
