Ever wanted to display who’s online on your website? Can’t find it on Google? Maybe you are not googling it right. I tried searching for this a few days back but I was using keywords to find the HTML for it and found nothing.
A few days later I visited a blog (which I can’t remember the name of or I would link to it) and found exactly what I was searching for, in the corner at the bottom it said ’19 online’. You can get your very own widget from http://whos.amung.us now.
All you need to do is visit the site and copy the coding, no registration at all, once it’s pasted, it instantly displays who is online at that present moment on your website, when the widget displaying the number online is clicked it re-directs to ‘who’s among us’, where it displays stats about the website’s visitors like where the visitors are from, the pages the other visitors online are reading and also past visits.
The site is quite ‘clean’ because my Ad Aware didn’t detect any tracking cookies or other spyware so it’s probably safe. The site claims that over nine billion of its neat widgets have been served but that’s a little hard to believe considering I’ve never seen it anywhere before. Doing more research I found another service, JSTracker but I prefer the former as no registration is required and it’s a quick process.
(I am not using it here in Computer Realm yet because based on my traffic I doubt I’ll have more than five visitors simultaneously online at one time)
