Their services are available for free and as a premium service, needless to say the premium service offers more functionality. The premium service gives you a more custom environment where you can customize the layout of the shop and showcase an unlimited amount of products. The premium service is preferred if you are looking to sell items on a larger scale.

For small scale online selling the basic free version should be sufficient. They allow integration with the CafePress marketplace which gives you more exposure to your products and also allow you to offer a mailing list to keep in touch with your customers. However there are limitations for the free service like only one of each product type per shop maybe listed.

For each sale CafePress takes their cut which is set at a base price, for example a T-Shirt has a base price of $8.99 which is decent I think for the amount of work they cut down, all you have to do is set a price above the base price which is not too overwhelming and you are good to go. CafePress sends you a monthly check with all your commissions you make.

They also handle payments via a secure payment gateway, handle product returns and ship worldwide.

Ever since Adtoll was under new ownership, things didn’t go too well, about near the end of last year, it looked like Adtoll was going nowhere. Campaigns weren’t functioning properly, payments were not being made and worst of all no response from support as if the entire team had just ghosted the website and left. Back when things were running smooth, Adtoll would be the ideal success story to be inspired by, with previous owners, brothers Dan and Paul effectively running Adtoll bringing Adtoll to great heights in the advertising network niche (and mind you, advertising networks are one of the toughest to penetrate) because of the level of activity, connectivity and innovations they brought about with the service.

This lead to a lot of happy webmasters who rushed to used the service. With the new acquisition and the abrupt halt in development, it has lead to a lot of turmoil with the several publishers and advertisers who switched permanently to Adtoll to manage their advertising.

While new owners had acquired Adtoll, previous owner Dan has been working closely with Adtoll to make sure things stay afloat. just a few minutes after my previous post on Adtoll acknowledging its apparent downfall I was assured by Dan:

I am the founder of AdToll which everyone knows was sold in recent months.

I assure you the issues that have been experienced recently are temporary and is really a symptom of handing over the company to the new owners. They are getting their feet on the ground though and things will pick up!

This morning, I was greeted by more good news from Dan stating that things are going to get better with Adtoll anytime soon:

Just to followup here…. great news is changes are about to happen! I know its been a tough couple of months and a lot of customers have been left in the lurch …. there are good reasons but its all about to be resolved.

An announcement will be made hopefully this week on the AdToll blog about these changes so stay tuned!

While I a not the owner I am assisting the new team and helping them get back on track. I have also put a plan in place to get new customer service reps trained up and properly responding to support enquiries.

One of the biggest issues is education and training for the new team which is really the reason why things got the way they did.

I assure you things will get back on track!

So if you are planning on giving up on Adtoll, stop right there! Guess Adtoll is going to be fully functional soon and based on Dan’s comment it looks like the Adtoll users are in for a pleasant surprise.

AdEngage is a popular advertising network (recently acquired by Technorati) providing a platform for publishers to sell advertising via the AdEngage marketplace. Very similar to the way Adtoll functions, AdEngage puts your site’s custom advertising on auto-pilot after placing the AdEngage code on your website. With several thousands of publishers and advertisers, You can be assured that as advertisers you will find good value for your campaign and as publishers you will always have your ad spot busy provided that you give value in terms of CPC/CPM.

For publishers, for a decent 25% commission they simplify your whole process of custom advertising, providing a detailed rate card with plenty of details including estimated CPC, CPM and CTR among other details. Payment is made per month via several methods including PayPal and Check. When ad spots are not booked by an advertiser, the ad space is occupied by ‘Run of Network’ pay per click ads which offer low CPC’s usually in the range of less than 10 cents.

Advertisers get complete transparency letting advertisers know beforehand how much ROI to expect. For an extremely cheap estimated cost per click of a minimum of 1 cent with an array of websites from all niches to choose from AdEngage is a recommended place to make the most out of a tight budget. Advertisers are offered plenty of versatility in terms of thousands of websites to choose from, direct purchases on sites for a period of time and targeted PPC campaigns.

The fact that it was recently acquired by Technorati virtually gurantees that service should be spot on as their reputation is at stake. However, AdEngage is not all ‘flowery’ as it seems. Based on some of the user reviews expressed in some webmaster forums AdEngage has a bad reputation atleast over the past for poor quality traffic and low performance for publishers.

The fact is that AdEngage like most other advertising networks work for some and not for others, thus bringing around plenty of mixed feelings for the service, just take a look at this posts from Digitalpoint:

I paid for 3 weekly placements costing a total of $50 for the period. I used AdEngage to promote a web site that offers free memberships and upgraded paid memberships. I received over 1,800 clicks and not a single click turned into a free membership. AdEngage’s traffic is utter garbage — in fact, it’s worse than garbage — it’s absolute cr@p.

AdEngage works fine for me. My average CPC is 0.13 and they have that small icons that make people to click on them.

as an advertiser i love adengage, because I will buy $3 in text links and make $10 on adsense. but as a publisher i hate adengage because nobody will click on their ads.

The last statement was a little conradictory but I guess all the above ‘mini-reviews’ just goes to show that you need to try the service out yourself to see if it would work for you.

SysSense is an Adsense Statistics montioring application which sits in your tray and displays your Adsense earnings when you mouse over the tray icon (the tray icon can be changed too!). Set to update at a predefined time of your choice, it lets you display a wealth of specifics on your Adsense stats including impressions, clicks, CTR, eCPM and earnings for a daily or monthly time frame.

Online payment processors handle credit card transactions and usually handle bank wires and transfers as well. They provide a ‘virtual’ bank account which is commonly referred to as simply a user’s account balance of the payment processors from which money can be sent to other users and received via various payment methods specifically via credit cards. Using payment processors to handle online businesses and transactions ensures privacy as well, as most payment processors allow sending money among accounts of that payment processor using only the email address or ID of that account. This is more private than standard transactions that require a wealth of personal information on the user.

Most payment processors function in a standard way with a standard set of features. Signing up is generally free, different types of accounts are offered, a typical example being personal and business accounts. All payment processors charge fees per transaction depending on the type of transaction (credit card, bank wire, bank transfer). The fees is generally a percentage of the transaction, the fees vary depending on the payment processors. They allow sending money to other users of that payment processor, from the account balance or credit card, they allow withdrawing funds via check, bank account or credit card (These features vary by  payment processor and country of user generally). They handle transactions in times specified by their terms (the reputed ones atleast). Some of them offer physical or virtual debit cards that are linked directly or indirectly to your payment processor account to speed up transfer of money.

The services offered by payment processors are sometimes called Merchant services. Payment processors generally offer secure connections on all their pages. Payment processors not offering secure pages are not recommended and should not be considered for your online business or for your miscellaneous online transactions.

The most popular payment processor in use today is PayPal . They are used extensively in various advertising programs, freelancing programs, online services etc. PayPal typically offers all features stated above.

The payment processing industry is also known for being a favorable breeding ground for scammers. New scam payment processing services are launched everyday. Some of them specifically with the intention of phishing user credentials and credit card details and also to pocket money from any transactions made while the site is live. Others with the intention of developing a legitimate site however end up failing due to the high level of competition in the industry. The anonymity online and the easiness to create a payment processor  contributes to the reason behind these scams.

While PayPal is great, it does have a few drawbacks, it still does not support receiving funds to more than 100 countries. Some industries such as gambling and the adult industry is not supported by PayPal. They are also notorious for freezing account without notice for ‘background checks’ tying up your money for long periods of time.  Generally though, they would be the most recommended solution.

I’ve only touched lightly on Adtoll before in my Affiliate marketing post. Adtoll is (or maybe was) a great advertising solution offering pay-per-click and time based advertising on websites of advertiser’s choice via their marketplace. They also offer plenty of innovative forms of ads like PicText and Peel-away ads.The transparency for advertisers is phenomenal with every possible detail on the rate card from eCPM, CTR, CPC and Country of origin among other details.

For publishers, they ease the process of custom advertising on websites by setting up an ‘autopilot’ interface for advertisers to directly purchase advertising spots on websites and blogs and also lists publisher websites in their marketplace which keeps your advertising spots virtually always booked even if your site brings only a little traffic per day. The first time I tried Adtoll was on Computer Realm back in the day when traffic used to be around 30-40 visits a day, surprisingly an advertiser purchased an ad almost immediately after signing up. They take a 25% commission on ad purchases but i guess it’s reasonable considering the convenience for the publisher and the publicity provided via the marketplace. They have flexible payment options as well including Check and PayPal.

Adtoll was initially an Australian based company founded by twin brothers Dan and Brown and under their ownership, Adtoll was very active in terms of development. A couple of months back though they were acquired by ‘a US based’ (that was the only detail provided on the new ownership) company. While Dan mentioned that they would be working closely with the new management things have slowed down a bit.

And getting to the point…

Since the changeover, things have slowed down in terms of development, only 1 blog post posted since the new management took over, etc. A few days back I decide to try Adtoll once again only to find that things have gone dormant since mid-december. Other webmasters who seem to be having trouble with their campaigns and no reply from their account manager have also expressed their concern in this Digitalpoint thread.

While this can be due to the holiday season as well, a company with such an established profile with a large userbase would remain just as active during any season. When a company is under new management it can go 3 ways and apparently it’s not going too well with this one.

With the great CPC’s and conversions experienced by other webmasters, Adtoll is a great advertising company, hopefully this is just a temporary phase.

Well, it’s been a while since I posted so i thought i’ll start off with where i left off. I guess the post title pretty much speaks for itself but anyway. Just so you know the Bux.to ‘experiment’ is an ‘experiment’ that I did to find out if these so called ‘PTC(Pay-to-click)’ sites are actually worth the time and money. The result is kind of contradicting though.  While I learnt that this particular PTC is not the most reliable in this niche while being the most popular i was in the mean time experimenting on another PTC which turned out to have a far different outcome.

Just to let you know i was tracking the ‘experiment’ in posts(refer to the ‘related posts’ section) telling my readers the progress of my experiment. Making money out of these programs generally requires investing in the program to get a good return out of it. You make money by referring other members and earning a percentage of your referral earnings(usually anywhere between 50 and 100%) and this is where investing comes in. If you don’t have access to enough publicity to get direct referrals you can ‘purchase’ unreferred members and they will make money for you. So i thought i’ll try this out just to find out and let my readers know if these kinds of sites are worth the time and money.

Filling you in on how things turned out, I actually made my money I invested pretty quickly of $16.98 and I requested payment on 23rd May and well that’s it. Today, six months later I am yet to receive my payment. The site still seems to be up and running with a strong alexa of 1k. Reading posts on their forum, members have stated having been paid after 9 months of payment request. I won’t be surprised if I receive my payment 3 months or maybe even another 6 months from now if the site is still up but it’s a lost cause really. A $3 profit after 6 to 12 months.

While this outcome should conclude this experiment as these PTC programs cannot be trusted i would say otherwise. In the past few months I was also experimenting with Neobux. This result tuirned out to be far more different. I’ve been paid instantly at Neobux several times now and not in 6 months or 3 or even an hour! I’ve been paid there in just a few seconds several times. This just goes to show that investing time and money in this programs are not such a bad idea except that you should be aware of which sites to invest your time and money in.

After the launch of Neobux with their new more profitable business model, many PTC sites have followed their lead and these sites that now follow the new PTC model are commonly known by the PTC community as 2nd generation PTC’s.

This generation of PTC’s(as used and virtually started by Neobux) most highlighted differences to the old model (as bux.to) are the following:

-Referral Renting (as opposed to Referral purchasing) of unreferred members.

-Automated Referral Recycling (as opposed to no recycling of referrals once purchased) of unreferred members.

-Instant payments (as opposed to manual payments ranging from 24 hours to 9months)

-Lower ROI for members (as opposed to a much higher ROI) thus making the model more sustainable for the PTC owner.

A new generation of PTCs has started emerging lately like Neobux, Buxout and Sandraclicks which continually keep revising and tweaking themselves to evolve an efficient survival strategy. Some of these websites offer instant payouts, wherein the website’s script credits the user’s account as soon as he cashes out. This niche of online money making will always be notorious for turning into scams. But careful analyzing and investment in the select few best websites could reap a very decent profit by any standard.

I don’t usually endorse paid-to-click programs such as these however I was quite frankly impressed to say the least with Neobux that I have to share my experience.

Fortunately though just as the PTC industry looks like it’s crumbling away NeoBux was born. From the interface, to the very impressive support to the numerous other features NeoBux has definitely initiated the ‘second generation of paid to click services’. Their main feature is the instant, automated payment system where a user can request a payment upon reaching the minimum payout of $2 and then receives it instantly into their Alertpay or PayPal account.

Lead by a dedicated Administration, who has invested his invaluable time and money to make sure this service flourishes along with the quick support and response to feature and support requests NeoBux looks like it’s here to stay. I’ve already reached the minimum payout of $2 and have been paid instantly which you can see proof of payment below: been paid several times, you can see a screenshot of payments below:

I’ve tried and researched through many paid to click services and by far NeoBux has turned out to be the best which you might have already guessed based on the praise for the service from the beginning of this post! There’s nothing really I can think of to complain about for this service but I guess one thing is the lack of ads to click comparatively as other services offer atleast 10 ads per day while NeoBux ranges from 5 – 10 ads per day which is a smart move I think instead of having ads sponsored by the service itself which would result in a cash flow problem and would eventually turn the service into a scam. This only disadvantage though would probably be gotten rid of with time as the service gets more popular.

With the transparency, support and  professionalism of the site i decided to invest money off my own pocket and i haven’t regretted it. I invested 90$($30 for referrals, $60 for golden membership) and made my investment and now in profit in less than a month.

Word of advice if you plan on investing: This PTC site is a lot different in terms of the system and how things run. I suggest you visit the NeoBux forum and read the news often for updates as well as the user written tutorials on how the system works and how to optimize your earnings.

Oh, and by the way they are fully functional with Paypal cashouts and purchases as well.

I’ve tried many PTC sites and I can safely say that Neobux is going to be around for a while from the great administration to the support to the script.

After a year, Neobux has gone where no paid to click site has gone, the development of the site is highly impressive considering it’s an individually owned website. Their newest development is the Extended Validation for their SSL certificate guaranteeing more security and safety to their existing as well as new users.
