Best Media Player?

With the current trend being getting the latest media as it is released whether it is movies, music or any other types of media, having THE media player is essential. THE as in easy to use, and mainly plays all types of media without any hassle, in other words have all the audio codecs and video codecs built in so that we won’t have to go through the tedious process of spending hours googling ‘divx codec’ and so on looking for external codec packs with barely work except for a few ones like k-lite codec pack and so on.

Just like every other type of software media players too are overflowing all over the web. Searching for ‘media player’ in any software site would produce thousands of search results but basically it’s just the skin and the company that’s different from these players. The codecs, ease of use and all other aspects of a good media player are similar.

So the best media player, would be the very popular VLC media player. Its popularity has appreciated over time because of its top quality not because of advertising. It remains in the ‘top downloads’ in many software sites throughout the net.

What makes VLC stand out? Well it plays anything! It’s practically bug free and it doesn’t get any cheaper…it’s free, and for this even if it wasn’t the best Videolan(the company) deserves something as the product has thoroughly surpassed the standards of most other shareware media players.

Well most people don’t really bother about play lists anymore, but for people who do I advice you to stick with the general Windows Media Player, no doubt it has the best play list organizer…but you might consider installing the K-lite codec pack or sooner or later you are bound to get the ‘could not find codec’ message.

While vlc may be no1 or at least one of the best for most of you, you would always expect to find something it could improve on. Here it would be the default skin.

It would be fitting back in the days of windows 98, but today with windows vista getting into gear I doubt it’s good enough. While the numerous skins available on their site may be passable it is known to have a few glitches once the skin is active.

Apart from the skin VLC is virtually a perfect software package.
